UK NARIC is delighted to announce its first-ever conference for Scotland and the North. Naric North takes place in Glasgow on 21 May 2019 at the University of Strathclyde's new Technology and Innovation Centre.

This responds to many requests for more UK NARIC events in the north of the UK and outside of London.

The one-day programme will address key topics of concern for higher education, FE, and professional bodies, with the perspective of the UK nations and regions and of Scotland in mind.

Our two main themes are: Engagement - new students, new markets; and Safeguarding - compliance, security, risk.

As this is our first Naric North, there is a special deal on delegate places: buy three, get one free [email link - ask for a special discount code for the free place]. This encourages use of the event for team development. The delegate rate is excellent value at £135 per person. Book before 28 February and there is a further saving: a reduced Early Bird price of £115 per person. Lunch and refreshments are all included at the terrific new venue in central Glasgow.

Engagement - with current students, to improve retention and outcomes; and with applicants, to improve conversion - is a live topic, and is of particular concern in an increasingly competitive market. Exploring and engaging with new markets is also a means to diversify your recruitment and manage your risk - very important in times like these, with uncertainty and political turbulence.

Naric North's safeguarding theme will also look at the issue of risk. If diversification leads you to consider higher risk markets, can novel approaches to compliance, verification, and security safeguard your sponsor licence and your reputation?

Also - what distinctive contributions and fresh approaches to these issues are coming from institutions, companies, and individuals based in the North? What can we learn from innovations in Scotland, the North, and the UK nations and regions?

All this and more will be part of a rich and wide-ranging Naric North programme.
