Modernised recognition Directive agreed

European Parliament votes to approve modernised Directive

The European Parliament voted on Wednesday to approve the modernisation of Directive 2005/36/EC.  With this final step, the text of the modernised Directive has been formally agreed and the Commission together with the Member States can now work towards implementing the new Directive and the updated recognition provisions it contains.
Commissioner Barnier congratulated the parliament on adopting the modernised Directive, and noted that it will make the process of recognition easier for migrant professionals.
