UK NARIC to help develop China national qualifications framework for key industries

UK NARIC and the National Centre for Schooling Development Programme of the Ministry of Education China (CSDP) launched their new joint project in Lanzhou, China, on 19-21 August.

The project, supported and funded by the UK Government Prosperity Fund, aims to help China develop a National Qualifications Framework for the cultural and creative industries and tourism management.

The launch took place at a major three-day event attended by experts from 20 selected Chinese universities, together with enterprises and government bodies, to take forward the agenda of developing cutting-edge sector standards.

The CEO of UK NARIC, Dr Cloud Bai-Yun, addressed the opening session and shared how UK NARIC expertise and resources will make a success of the project.

The event was ‘...the best Prosperity event of the year so far in education’ according to the Department for International Trade.

As part of this project, UK NARIC is organising an in-country event in the UK for a visiting China delegation during UK NARIC conference week in London (week commencing 21 November, with the UK NARIC 2016 conference on 21 and 22 November). Look out for updates on this in NARIC News, UK NARIC's monthly email newsletter.
