The Bologna agreement has had an immense impact on higher education in Europe since it was first signed in 1999. This session provides an overview of the Bologna process and examines its implementation across Europe since its introduction. By looking at real examples of old and new style qualifications from different European countries, delegates will explore how various specificities of the Bologna process have been applied.

This course is recommended for university and college staff involved in the recognition of higher education qualifications from countries within the European region, affected by the Bologna Process. The course will also be useful to people from professional bodies, nationality & immigration solicitors, recruiters, work permit and visa agencies, careers / guidance / refugee and asylum seekers advisers.

The key objectives of the training are to:

• Understand the background and goals of the Bologna Process
• Understand how to apply credential evaluation and assessment theory to reach a final decision regarding comparability of both pre and post Bologna awards
• Explore the impact of the Bologna Process to national education systems and the implications on credential evaluation
