Many thanks to those UK NARIC members who have taken time to complete our 2020 annual member survey. There is still time to respond to the survey if you have not yet done so. Early results now in highlight some of the key COVID and post-COVID concerns for institutions in the coming months.

Over half of respondents so far are worried about falling demand from international students, with two thirds saying their main challenges will be ensuring that individuals continue to come, and providing reassurance to those coming from overseas. 37% foresee challenges with offering places to students who have not sat their final examinations.

52% of respondents think that staggered or delayed starts to the academic year will be one of the biggest knock-on effects for educational institutions arising from the pandemic. 76% expect changes to their own systems and processes to deal with these knock-on effects, and half of respondents expect there will be wider changes to their organisation's strategy.

79% foresee challenges in understanding an individual's attainment because they have not taken examinations. 30% mentioned concerns with understanding older or historic qualifications.

In relation to UK NARIC services, responses to the survey so far have been positive, with many praising member service levels and the efficiency, speed, and helpfulness of the UK NARIC team.

We will provide more analysis, and coverage of issues mentioned by individual respondents to the survey, in future editions of this newsletter.

Remember that there is still time to complete the survey, which has been emailed to all our registered users. We value your responses. As a thank you, respondents can opt to be entered into a prize draw for £50 in Amazon vouchers.
