Since 2013, subscribers to UK NARIC's International Grade Comparisons (IGC) database have been able to compare the overall upper secondary performance of international students with various combinations of A level grades (A*A*A*, A*A*A, etc). 

Now the database goes one step further, enabling users to establish comparable single subject grades, wherever possible.

The new data will benefit institutions which set subject-specific entry requirements for access to their undergraduate programmes. A university requesting, for example, a grade B in an individual subject can now consult IGC to identify the corresponding international grade.

·         Malta (Matriculation Certificate Examination)

·         Non-country specific (European Baccalaureate)

·         Non-country specific (International Baccalaureate)

·         Norway (Vitnemål for Videregående Opplæring (Leaving Certificate from Upper Secondary School))

·         Pakistan - Islamabad (Intermediate / Higher Secondary Certificate)

·         Poland (Świadectwo Dojrzałości (Certificate of Maturity))

·         St Lucia (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) / CXC Associate Degree) Hong Kong (HKDSE) 

·         Scotland (Highers)

·         South Africa (National Senior Certificate)

·         South Korea (대학수학능력시험 (College Scholastic Ability Test - CSAT))

·         USA (Advanced Placement Examination)

IGC is designed for those seeking to better understand the achievement of international applicants. It uses grade distribution data, where available, to compare the performances of UK and international students and, in turn, inform possible grade comparisons. 

In addition to comparing upper secondary grades, the product also includes grade comparison guidance in relation to undergraduate degrees.
