We manage a number of learning and mobility centred National Agency functions for the UK Government and the European Union:
UK NARIC- UK National Recognition Information Centre
UK NEC- National Europass Centre for the UK
CPQ- The Centre for Professional Qualifications
ECVET- The national contact point for England, improving the mobility of those holding vocational qualifications across Europe
ReferNet- The European network offering comparable information on Vocational Education and Training across Europe
UK NARIC is the National Agency responsible for providing information, advice and opinion on academic, vocational and professional qualifications and skills from all over the world. As the National Agency, managed on behalf of the UK Government, under contract to the Department for Education (DfE), we provide the only official source of information on international education and training systems and wide-ranging international qualifications and skills attained from outside the UK.
UK NARIC is part of the NARIC network. This is an initiative of the European Commission and was created in 1984. The network aims at improving academic recognition of diplomas and periods of study in the Member States of the EU, the EEA countries and the associated countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Cyprus. It is also the UK National Agency in the wider European Network of Information Centres (ENICs).
Europass aids the mobility of individuals throughout Europe by removing barriers to working, studying or training in Europe.
The UK National Europass Centre (NEC) is the National Agency responsible for promoting Europass within the UK to individuals, Awarding Bodies, employers, education institutions and other stakeholders. The agency is jointly funded by the European Commission and the UK Department for Education (DfE) and sits within a network of 31 other Europass Centres within the EU / EEA.
The NEC is responsible for the coordination, management and promotion of all UK activities related to Europass and its associated documents.
The Centre for Professional Qualifications (CPQ) covers all aspects of professional qualifications in an international context, expanding beyond the EU borders. We provide advice and guidance to a variety of stakeholders in this area, including professionals, professional bodies, employers, and sector skills councils.
Welcome to the national contact point for the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) for England. We are part of a wider network of Contact Points in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). There are separate National Contact Points for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
ReferNet offers comparable information on VET across Europe. It was established by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop).
The network provides a decentralised information exchange, based on national consortia in participating countries, made up of VET stakeholders.
